Anambra: I can’t be sacked —Iwu tells NLC – The Punch

The Chairman of the Independent National Electoral Commission, Prof. Maurice Iwu, on Thursday said the outcome of the Anambra State governorship election.

He therefore said that the credited to the President of the Nigeria Labour Congress, Mr. Abdulwahed Omar on Monday that Iwu should be removed was baseless.

Also on Thursday, a faction of the All Progressive Grand Alliance said he had gone to court to challenge the declaration of Mr. Peter Obi of a rival group in the party as the winner of the election.

Iwu, who spoke through his Chief Press Secretary, Mr. Andy Ezeani said labour’s call could not be justified.

He wondered why people would call for his sacking after he said he had conducted a free and fair election.
