The Senate yesterday received a letter from Acting President Goodluck Jonathan containing the 2010 draft statutory budget of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT).

Jonathan also sent a letter to the lawmakers nominating Mr. Sam Saba as chairman of the Code of Conduct Bureau (CDB) along with seven other members.

Man loses 12 family members to fire – Daily Trust

Twelve members of the family of Alhaji Ahmed Kabiru Boss, a former oil marketing company worker, died late Wednesday in a fire outbreak in their house at Chiranchin Gabas quarters in Kumbotso Local Government Area of Kano State. The dead include four women and eight children. Their remains were buried yesterday around 12:45pm at Dandolo cemetery in Goron Dutse area of the state.
