Nobel Laureate, Professor Wole Soyinka, on Thursday, carpeted the Senate President, David Mark, over his comments to the effect that the removal of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Professor Maurice Iwu, would not solve the country’s electoral problem.

A restructuring of the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) initiated by the Presidency may enthrone gender balance in the leadership of the electoral body.
According to a provision in one of the Electoral Reform Bills President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua recently sent to the National Assembly, the chairman of INEC and the deputy chairman should no longer be of the same sex
