Controversies trailing the continued absence of President Umaru Yar’Adua from office since 23 November, 2009, have taken a new twist, as a Form 48 was, yesterday, filed against the newly appointed Attorney-General of the Federation, Prince Adetokunbo Kayode, and the entire members of the Federal Executive Council, FEC, for allegedly failing to comply with an order made by the Chief Judge of the Federal High Court Abuja division, Justice Daniel Abutu on 22 January, 2010.
Reps to investigate crash of navy aircraft – Daily Trust

The House of Representatives committee on Navy said it would investigate the circumstances surrounding the crash of the Nigerian Navy helicopter in the Niger Delta, which killed four naval officers.
Chairman of the committee, Rep Bashir Adamu Kazaure (PDP, Jigawa State) told newsmen in Abuja at the weekend that they have already requested the naval authorities to intimate the committee with its preliminary findings on the accident to determine their next line of action.

Former Gwaram Local Government Chairman Alhaji Auwalu Sule Kila is an accused in the murder of three year old Zaiban Tanimu Ayuba of Dazara village, police said in Jigawa yesterday. The state police commissioner Alhaji Abdullahi S. Fana, who disclosed this to Daily Trust yesterday also confirmed the arrest of three other suspects including the prime suspect, one Abubakar, a stranger who lives in the same house with late Zainab for one month before she was killed.
