Security agencies are investigating alleged threats by former militant leader Government Ekpemupolo against some Federal Government officials.
Ekpemupolo, who is also known as Tompolo, is said to have threatened Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Chief Ufot Ekaette and Director-General of the Bureau for Public Procurement Emeka Ezeh over a N1.8 billion shoreline protection contract, which a company in which he is interested bidded for but failed to win.

The Amnesty programme may have begun to yield fruit as Nigeria’s oil production has reached a record 2.4 million barrels per day (mbpd), the Group Managing Director of the Nigerian National Petroleum Corporation (NNPC), Dr. Mohammed Barkindo, said at the weekend.
