The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has launched a fresh probe into the alleged N5 billion scam rocking the National Examinations Council (NECO), while its Director of Finance, Mr. Ishola Isaac, has been arrested.

Registrar, NECO, Professor Promise Okpala, is also said to be on the radar of the anti-corruption agency. A source in the commission disclosed that the chairman of the anti-graft commission, Mrs. Farida Waziri, had instructed operatives handling the case to speed-up their investigation.

The operatives were said to have swooped on the Minna headquarters of the examinations body on Tuesday and arrested Isaac, who had been accused of colluding with Okpala to allegedly loot the examinations body.

After he was arrested, the operatives reportedly took him to Tundun Wada Police Station in Minna, before he was later driven to Alovera Hotel, also in the city.
