Minister of Aviation, Mr Babatunde Omotoba, weekend, raised alarm over the decaying state of facilities at Benin Airport.
He observed that there were major cracks on the run way and that some areas were in the process of collapsing which, according to him, constitute a threat to safe flight operations.

The Senate has demanded the suspension of today’s handover of the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) at the local wing of the Murtala Mohammed Airport to Bi-Courtney Nigeria Limited.
The Senate demand upon protest by Arik Air to suspend further operations in the country is to allow the Senate committee on Aviation intervene towards a successful resolution of the dispute, Chairman of the committee, Senator Anyim Ude said in a statement yesterday.

Arik Air has threatened to shut down its operation following the order of the Federal Government that Bi-Courtney Aviation Services should take over the General Aviation Terminal (GAT) located at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, (MMIA), Lagos which is the base of the airline’s domestic operations.
