The leadership of the Lagos State Chapter of the Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) has instituted a court action against the Inspector-General of Police (IGP), the Attorney-General of the Federation and Minister of Justice and the Health Minister over the application of Section 4(2) of the Robbery and Firearms (Special provisions) Act Cap R 11 Laws of the Federation of Nigeria 2004 and its subsequent role in the death of the Assistant News Editor of The Guardian, Mr. Bayo Ohu.

Dele Giwa’s family wants FG to re-open probe on his murder – Vanguard

The family of the late publisher of Newswatch Magazine, Dele Giwa, weekend called on the Federal Government to re-open investigation into the gruesome murder of their son. They also lamented being abandoned by friends and government, despite the contributions of the late Giwa to journalism in the country.

NPAN, NUJ, others condemn The Guardian man Ohu’s murder – The Nation

Newspaper proprietors yesterday condemned Sunday’s killing of The Guardian reporter Bayo Ohu, describing it as “another sad page on what has become a regular diary of violent crimes”.

The Nigeria Union of Journalists (NUJ) urged the Lagos State government to set up a corner’s inquest into Ohu’s death.
