House of Representatives is considering a law which would stop the presidency from prosecuting all cases relating to the violation of human rights offences in Nigeria.
The bill for an Act to Amend the National Human Rights Commission Act of 2004 seeks to empower the Nigerian Human Rights Commission to publish a weekly account of detainees in Nigerian prisons and handle the prosecution of human rights abuses in the Country.

In a bid to remove Nigeria from the list of terrorist countries, the Federal Government is to meet the United States (U.S.), Britain and the Netherlands.
The Minister of Aviation, Babatunde Omotoba, who disclosed this yesterday in Abuja at a media briefing by his ministry, said that the meeting would be held under the auspices of the International Civil Aviation Organisation (ICAO).

A tripartute meeting of the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN), Governors’ Forum and the Ministry of Agriculture and Natural Resources has agreed to descend heavily on First Bank Plc and the UBA Plc if, within 21 days, they do not begin to disburse the N100 billion agricultural intervention fund that has been with them for the past six months.
