Speaker of the House of Representatives Dimeji Bankole and his deputy Usman Bayero Nafada yesterday denied allegation that they bought 18 bulletproof vehicles.
A national daily alleged the duo purchased the vehicles for their offices use.A statement by the Speaker’s Special Adviser on Media Mr Ebomhiana Musa said the publication was an attempt to smear their image.

The father of former Central Bank boss Charles Chukwuma Soludo was snatched on Tuesday night by a gang of five gunmen who stormed his home in Isuanioma, Aguata Local Government Area, Anambra State.

Unknown gunmen last night kidnapped Pa Simeon Soludo (78), father of Anambra State Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) governorship candidate Prof. Chukwuma Soludo.
The septuagenarian was snatched in his hometown, Isuanioma, Aguata Local Government Area, by the kidnappers who were said to have come in a Peugeot 406.

Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) Chairman, Maurice Iwu, announced on Tuesday that the next electoral cycle would open on May 29 to start preparations for the 2011 general elections.
