Discordant tunes are still emanating from the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) over whether or not President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua would run for a second term.
The PDP had recently hinted that there was no vacancy at Presidential Villa after it emerged that some party chiefs were warming up for the job.

The ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday asked the Senate to respect the tradition of budget presentation by using the usual venue, which is the chamber of the House of Representatives.
Fielding questions from reporters on the on-going feud between the Senate and the House members over the venue of presenting the 2010 Appropriation Bill, PDP National Publicity Secretary Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali said the issue of venue ought not to have been a bone of contention.

The Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) yesterday denied that President Umaru Musa Yar’Adua has asked the leadership of the party to hands-off the conduct of the governorship primaries in Anambra State.
National Publicity Secretary, Prof. Rufai Ahmed Alkali spoke in Abuja saying the President did not give any such directive to the National Working Committee (NWC).
