Corruption: Nigeria’s rating plunges, ranked 130th – Vanguard

Transparency International yesterday ranked Nigeria 130th out of 180 countries surveyed in the 2009 corruption perception index.
This shows that Nigeria’s rating has dropped from the 121 position it occupied in the index last year.

The United Nations Development Programme (UNDP) yesterday released its yearly Human Development Index (HDI), with Nigeria ranked 158.
Gabon, Congo, Kenya and Sudan are ahead of Nigeria.
Norway took the first position.
