Former President Chief Olusegun Obasanjo, while playing host to members of the National Association of Nigerian Students (NANS), at his hilltop residence in Abeokuta, Ogun State disclosed that the 2015 election was a success because 'God is a Nigerian'.
According to LEADERSHIP, Obasanjo said that many people worked against the conduct “but because God is a Nigerian, the election came, was successful and what we have seen so far is that our dream may be coming true''.
''I believe very sincerely that God loves this country. I have said it on a number of occasions that when you go through the history of this country, particularly during the pre-independence, we have gone to the precipice but we have not fallen over.
''And the election you talk about is a typical section of it; many people believed that after that election, there will be no more Nigeria, many had even sent their families abroad but for some of us, there is no where we can live abroad, they will say you with all your mouth, you were running so you can even run out of Nigeria and come here''.
