An auto crash on Awka-Enugu expressway has claimed the lives of 8 members of PDP.
The accident occurred around 11 p.m on Tuesday following a meeting. The driver who sustained minor injuries to his left wrist blamed the accident on overspeeding of a bus near them.
The dead party members have been deposited in the Federal Medical Centre, Umuahia's mortuary. Dr. Abali Chuku, the medical director of the hospital has confirmed that out of the 10 others also injured in the accident, 4 were in critical conditions and are in the intensive care unit.
Gov. Theodore Orji has paid a visit to the survivors but has not made a public comment.
