Under-fire Arsenal manager,Arsene Wenger,has called on the club supporters to back the team,despite not being able to add new players to squad yet.
Wenger has come under criticisms,following the inability of Arsenal to add to the squad,with several first-team players out with an injury.
Some disgruntled fans voiced their displeasure in Arsenal’s 3-1 loss at home to Aston Villa on Saturday,with some displaying placards: “Spend,Spend!”
However,speaking ahead of his side’s Champions League qualifiers against Fenerbahce,Wenger is adamant that he has a strong side that can still compete for honours.
“I would just like to reiterate to you that in the last 16 years we have been very successful with transfers,” Wenger said.
“And if you look at the players who will play here, they are top quality players. And you should never forget that.”
“Do not always think that what is outside is better than what you have. What is important is to rate what you have and our fans have to understand that.”
Arsenal have demonstrated their willingness to add to their team,making bids for Newcastle’s Yohan Cabaye and Paul Pogba of Juventus,on Monday.
