Kolawole Olugbenga, a 37-year-old pastor was summoned to a magistrate court in Lagos on Friday for duping a member of his congregation of N214,000.

According to the prosecutor, Olugbenga deceived a business woman who is a member of his church into giving him the money for prayers as it was the capital to start her business in 2011. However, he never refunded the money afterwards.

He added that the pastor's offense is in breach of Section 312 of the Criminal Law of Lagos State, 2011 which provides a penalty of 15 years imprisonment for fraud.

The Magistrate granted the accused who pleaded not guilty bail in the sum of N100,000 and adjourned the case to 5th September, 2013.
