The Federal Government recently distributed the sum of N2.8 million to 15 less privileged families in the society, an act done in order that the said families may possess self reliance in life.

An abandoned mother with quadruplets was given N200,000; a lady with breast cancer received N500,000 and a woman with triplets received the sum of N200,000. And a young man with spinal cord injury received N450,000.
Hajia Zainab Maina, the Minister of Women’s Affairs who had handed over the money to the recipients, ensured the public that the selection was done irrespective of the ethnic and religious backgrounds of the awarded.

She stressed that the act was in line with the President’s Transformation Agenda, as it seeks to address poverty and social exclusion by providing opportunities for families in distress to integrate into the economic life of their communities.
