Veteran Manchester United player,Ryan Giggs said that they would not allow Chelsea to take the lead and get out of their reach.
Giggs knows from Mourinho’s first stint at Chelsea,how United’s poor start cost them two titles,as the Blues mounted an unassailable lead to win the Premier League titles in 2005 and 2006.
With both sides set to clash on Monday, Giggs believes getting ahead of Chelsea will give them an opportunity to successfully defend their title.
“When Mourinho was at Chelsea, they obviously got off to good starts and we didn’t manage to catch them,” said Giggs at the launch of a new sponsorship between United and India-based Apollo Tyres, who will become the club’s official tyre partner in the UK.
“It has been well documented that we have a tough start but you like to get off to a good start.
“We got a good win at Swansea on Saturday and hopefully we can carry that on.”
Meanwhile Chelsea currently tops the league,after recording a 2-1 victory over Aston Villa on Wednesday.
