Manchester United and Chelsea plays out a boring 0-0 draw

In the most anticipated game of the English Premier League, Manchester United and Chelsea could only settle for a less entertaining 0-0 draw at Old Trafford.
With speculation mounting over the future of Wayne Rooney,there was no surprise that the build-up to the game centred on the England international.
Jose Mourinho started the game without any striker,in what was interpreted as a lack of faith in his strikers.
Both teams were cagey and cautious not to let each other in,which explained the drab first half.
There were few chances as both teams created minimal clear-cut opportunities,but United looked more deadly each time they came close to Chelsea’s goal area.
The second half picked up where it stopped in the first,and there wasn’t much to suggest any fireworks in the second 45 minutes.
Danny Welbeck had a glorious opportunity to shoot United in the lead,but was profligate in front of goal,as he wasted the effort.
Overall Rooney had an impressive game and did little to suggest that his mind was on a move elsewhere.
The most guilty party at the end of the game was Chelsea,as their approach to the game looked as though they came for a draw,while United was more purposeful of both sides.
And Mourinho admitted after the game that their pursuit of Rooney could be over: “This must be a very special club because in every [other] club in the world, when a player wants to leave they don’t support him,” he said.
