Nigeria wont play second fiddle at Afrobasket competition – Bakare

Coach of Nigeria’s D’Tigers,Ayo Bakare has assured that they will have a good outing at the 2013 Afrobasket Championship,which commenced yesterday in Abidjan,Ivory Coast.
Nigeria will begin it’s quest in the competition today,with a game against Mali and Bakare believes that it is about time they step up the plate.
“We have played second fiddle for too long and cannot afford to continue that way, so we must put in our best to ensure we achieve success,” Bakare said.
“This is the best set of players we have ever assembled and I believe we can win if we put in our best,” Bakare added.
Nigeria play Congo on Friday before ending their Group D campaign against Cameroon on Sunday.
The top three teams at the end of the tournament will represent the continent, at the next year’s 2014 World Basketball Championship in Spain.
