No fewer than 200 women from the ruling Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), South-South geo-political zone are expected in Asaba on September 18 for a prayer summit for peace in the country.

According to Daily times, wife of the Delta State Governor, Deaconess Roli Nere Uduaghan said this when women leaders from the zone, led by Chief Elizabeth Essien paid her a courtesy visit in Asaba at the weekend.

Delta State would host the prayer session because of the importance of prayers for peace and development of the nation.

The governor’s wife said, "This is not the time for talking but time for everybody to go back to God in prayer because it is only God who can really change the present situation of the country for the best”.

"We need to call upon God sincerely and I know God in His infinite mercy respond to our cry".

Deaconess Uduaghan said each state in the zone would be expected to send 20 delegates to the prayer summit, while the host state, Delta would send more delegates.
