According to the local media reported by the BBC, South African Paralympic athlete  Oscar Pistorius, 26, was arrested for shooting and killing his girlfriend at his home.

The police on the other hand said that a 26 year old man was in their custody on a murder case which is being investigated presently, they didn’t mention any names. The police statement also added that in the early hours of Thursday, a 30 year old woman was found with fatal wounds at the Silverlakes complex, Boschkop area of Johannesburg. According to the paramedics who arrived at the scene, there were bullet wounds in her head and upper body, a 9mm pistol was found at the scene. She died before the paramedics could even save her life.
