Pastor Enoch Adeboye, General Overseer of the Redeemed Christian Church of God (RCCG), has shared a harrowing experience of how he almost lost his life during an evangelism mission seven years ago.

Speaking during a church service, Adeboye recalled collapsing in Ilesha due to exhaustion and the strain of Nigeria’s poor road conditions. As his health deteriorated, he had to be airlifted to the church camp for an ongoing program. However, the evacuation faced an unexpected challenge when some individuals attempted to prevent the helicopter from taking off, damaging one of its windows in the process.

The revered cleric recounted that the incident led him to spend Christmas bedridden for the first time in his life. “Seven years ago, during this same program, my body broke down completely due to the terrible road conditions. For the first time in my life, I spent Christmas Day in bed. The devil was certain he had finally got me,” he told the congregation.

Adeboye expressed gratitude to God for preserving his life despite the ordeal. “Seven years later, I am still here! I want you to thank God for sparing my life,” he declared, prompting an outpouring of praise from worshippers.

The testimony has since sparked reactions among church members and religious observers, with many praising Adeboye’s resilience and unwavering faith. Some also pointed out the dangers faced by religious leaders who embark on demanding evangelism missions in remote areas.

His story serves as a powerful reminder of faith, endurance, and the belief in divine protection.
