Minister of Works Dave Umahi declared that President Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani will complete eight years in office, claiming divine insight. At a road project launch in Kaduna, he criticized the opposition’s emerging coalition, urging for constructive alternatives and praising recent economic progress under Tinubu's leadership.
Minister of Works, Dave Umahi, has boldly declared that both President Bola Tinubu and Governor Uba Sani of Kaduna State will serve eight years in their respective offices. Umahi asserted during the launch of the second phase of the Kaduna-Abuja-Kano road construction project.
While expressing confidence in the future of the current leadership, Umahi also addressed the opposition's efforts to challenge Tinubu's presidency. Recently, a coalition of opposition figures, including former Vice President Atiku Abubakar and members of the Social Democratic Party (SDP), was formed with the intent to oust Tinubu. This was followed by a significant meeting between Atiku, former governors, and ex-President Muhammadu Buhari in Kaduna.
Umahi, however, urged the opposition to engage in “constructive” criticism, emphasizing that providing alternative solutions was crucial to a functioning democracy. He criticized the lack of viable alternatives from the opposition and pointed to the positive progress of the Tinubu administration, referencing recent praise from international financial institutions, including the World Bank.
In his speech, Umahi also offered a spiritual angle, asserting that God had revealed to him that both Tinubu and Sani would enjoy a full eight-year term. “The voice of God is the voice of men,” Umahi concluded, expressing optimism about Nigeria’s future and asserting that the country was on the path to recovery.
