Nigerian disc jockey and music icon, DJ Jimmy Jatt, recently shared a heartfelt account of his health journey during an appearance on Rubbin’ Minds. He revealed his battle with chronic kidney disease, vision loss, and his road to recovery.
In 2020, amidst the global lockdown, DJ Jimmy Jatt began experiencing severe health challenges. He lost sight in one eye, requiring urgent surgery to restore his vision. This marked the start of a tumultuous period as he was later diagnosed with chronic kidney disease.
Reflecting on his lifestyle before the health crisis, the DJ admitted he had spent much of his life in Lagos but sought to explore the world in 2019. However, travel restrictions due to the pandemic kept him in Nigeria when his health began to decline.
Following his diagnosis, he relocated to the United States, where he underwent dialysis and later returned to Nigeria for a kidney transplant in 2022. After the successful procedure, DJ Jimmy Jatt prioritized recovery, taking a break from his career.
