Pastor William Kumuyi of the Deeper Life Christian Life Ministry urges clergymen to stop exploiting church members financially through seed sowing. He emphasizes the importance of supporting the needy rather than draining their resources, advocating for a shift in how church leaders approach their congregants' welfare.

Pastor William Kumuyi, the General Superintendent of the Deeper Life Christian Life Ministry, has called on clergymen to stop financially exploiting church members under the guise of encouraging them to "sow seeds" for prosperity. Speaking at a Christian gathering on October 18, Kumuyi emphasized that church leaders should support their congregants, particularly those in need, rather than drain their resources.

Kumuyi condemned the practice of asking members, especially vulnerable widows, to give their last savings with the promise of miraculous financial returns. He referred to biblical figures like Elijah, who uplifted those in need without seeking personal gain. The pastor expressed concern over the growing wealth of some church leaders, noting that this trend is detrimental to congregants who are often left struggling.

“Those who have given everything at the behest of their pastors often find themselves in dire situations, while the preachers accumulate wealth,” Kumuyi stated. He urged fellow pastors to reflect on their actions, reminding them that their role is to serve and uplift their members.
