In a shocking incident, the Kogi State Police Command has apprehended four suspects in connection with the murder of Damilola Olowoyo, a 19-year-old student from the Federal University Lokoja. The prime suspect, Jeremiah Paul, 20, reportedly lured Damilola into a secluded area under the guise of affection before drugging her with a drink laced with codeine.

During a press conference, Police Public Relations Officer SP William Ovye Aya detailed how Damilola went missing, prompting her family to report her disappearance. Utilizing phone tracking and technical expertise, police traced Paul, who confessed to the crime. He admitted to strangling Damilola and dismembering her body, removing her eyes, lungs, and other organs for a money ritual. Initially, he had contacted her parents, demanding a ransom of N400,000, which was paid before he carried out the gruesome act.

The suspects will face prosecution as investigations continue, with authorities pledging to intensify efforts against criminal activities in the state.
