JAMB has registered over two million candidates for the 2025 UTME, with the exam set for April 25 and a mock test on April 5. The board has intensified security measures to curb malpractice and warns candidates to adhere to guidelines for a smooth examination process.
The Joint Admissions and Matriculation Board (JAMB) has confirmed that over two million candidates have successfully registered for the 2025 Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME), with the main exam scheduled for April 25. Additionally, more than 200,000 students have opted to take the optional mock exam on April 5.
JAMB emphasized that this figure does not include candidates registered at foreign centers. With registration now closed, the board has shifted its focus to ensuring a fair and credible examination process by strengthening its security measures against malpractice.
According to JAMB, recent anti-cheating policies have already led to the arrest of individuals attempting to gain admission with falsified academic records. The board has reiterated its warning to candidates, urging them to comply strictly with examination guidelines and avoid dishonest practices.
JAMB also reminded candidates and stakeholders that the UTME registration process is separate from school-based exams like WAEC and NECO, stressing the importance of following official procedures.
