The Federal Capital Territory (FCT) command of the Nigeria Police Force has taken action against a growing number of false alarm incidents regarding alleged disappearances of male private parts. They have arraigned 51 individuals in court for spreading misinformation and causing disturbances, as confirmed by FCT Commissioner of Police, Haruna Garba.
The cases of supposed male organ disappearances have been on the rise, with a total of 62 reported as of now, starting with the first case in Gwagwalada on September 21, 2023. In response to this alarming trend, the FCT police have cracked down on those who wrongly accused others of causing the disappearance of their private parts, which often led to mob actions.
In a related development, reports emerged from Bauchi State of a man named Yohanna Abubakar who was killed by a quasi-security outfit for allegedly stealing a male genital organ. The man's death occurred during an intense interrogation aimed at forcing him to confess to the allegations against him.
Commissioner Haruna Garba stressed the importance of cooperation between residents and security forces to maintain a crime-free environment in the city and expressed his commitment to combating crime in all its forms within the Federal Capital Territory
