Gunmen have released Anambra State's Commissioner for Youth Development, Patrick Agha Mba, and his wife, Chizoba, just 24 hours after their abduction. The couple was taken on Friday in Edo State while traveling to Abuja for the wedding of Adaora, daughter of Anambra Governor Charles Soludo.
During the attack, the commissioner’s aide, Ernest Offiah, was killed. The assailants struck as the couple was en route to the wedding, which followed Adaora’s traditional marriage held the previous week in Isuofia. Governor Soludo’s spokesperson, Christian Aburime, confirmed their release on Saturday evening but did not disclose whether a ransom was paid.
