The Abia State People’s Democratic Party (PDP) has formally challenged Governor Alex Otti’s recent claim of paying off N90 billion in debt without borrowing. In an open letter, PDP State Chairman Elder Abraham Amah questioned the existence of the alleged debt, claiming that the previous PDP-led administration did not incur such liabilities. The letter calls for transparency, urging Governor Otti to present documentation verifying the debt amount and specifying recipients of the payments.
The PDP further requested a list of contractors and companies allegedly receiving the funds, emphasizing that Abia residents deserve clear, verifiable records of such financial transactions.
