In a swift response to President Bola Tinubu's recent initiative to address food crisis factors, the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Commission (FCCPC) took action by sealing off Sahad Store, a prominent supermarket in Abuja's Garki area.
Acting Executive Vice Chairman, Adamu Ahmed Abdullahi, revealed that the store was found guilty of misleading pricing and lack of transparency, violating consumer protection laws.
The commission's move reflects a broader effort to combat hoarding and price manipulation across the country, following government collaboration with state governors to establish a committee addressing such issues.
Minister of Information and National Orientation, Mohammed Idris, emphasized the importance of ensuring food accessibility for Nigerians and vowed to tackle traders engaging in hoarding practices.
