Nine individuals injured in the recent stampede at Holy Trinity Catholic Church, Maitama, Abuja, have been discharged from the hospital after receiving medical care. The unfortunate incident, which occurred during a food outreach program organized by the church, resulted in the loss of 10 lives, including children, and left several others injured.
Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike instructed hospitals to provide free treatment for all those affected. He also emphasized the need for more structured and secure public events, recommending that future outreach programs seek police approval and adopt measures to prevent overcrowding.
