Elvis Samuel, who barely escaped with his life, described the terrifying moment when the truck lost control to Punch newspaper. He recalled hearing panicked shouts about the failed brakes before a sudden eruption of fire. “I saw fire on my face,” he recounted, displaying the burns and injuries he sustained while trying to escape. According to him, good Samaritans helped tow his vehicle away just in time to prevent it from being consumed by the flames.
Eyewitnesses reported that the truck plowed into several vehicles before bursting into flames, triggering a series of explosions. Emergency services arrived at the scene to contain the blaze, but not before significant loss of life and property had occurred.
