Samuel Akinade Badekale, one of the top graduates from the University of Lagos (UNILAG), has celebrated his extraordinary achievement of graduating with a perfect 5.00 CGPA during the institution’s 55th convocation ceremony for the 2023/2024 academic session. He shares this honor with Damilare Haroon Adebakin, a fellow graduate from the Department of Cell Biology and Genetics.
Badekale expressed gratitude on social media, describing his success as proof that dreams are achievable. In his celebratory post, he highlighted the numerous awards and records he earned alongside his degree, attributing his success to divine intervention and hard work.
The convocation, held over three days, marked a historic moment for the university, with 16,590 students graduating. Among them, 9,865 earned first degrees and diplomas, and 6,659 received postgraduate degrees. The UNILAG Business School also celebrated 66 graduates. Additionally, the Department of Mass Communication broke records by producing 18 all-female first-class graduates.
