Renowned actress Rita Dominic recently shared the deeply personal reason behind her hiatus from acting in 2001/2002, disclosing that she temporarily abandoned stardom to become a caregiver in London. Speaking at the Women of Valour International Women’s Day event in Accra, Ghana, Rita opened up about grappling with personal challenges during that period, leading her to take a step back from the film industry.
Amid a dark phase in her life, Dominic relocated to the United Kingdom and transitioned into a role as a caregiver for adults with special needs. While some may perceive such a move as a "step-down," Rita emphasized the profound joy and purpose she derived from caring for others during a critical juncture in her life.
During her speech, she revealed, "While in London, I was trying to make ends meet, so I started working in a care home as a caregiver for adults with special needs. While some might view it as a step-down, I don’t. Taking care of others brought me joy and purpose at the time I needed it most because I remember I took care of my mother and my father when they were ill because I was alone with them."
