CAF postpones the 2024 African Women’s Cup of Nations to 2025, citing a congested football calendar. The tournament will now take place from July 5 to July 26, providing additional preparation time for participating African nations.

The Confederation of African Football (CAF) has decided to postpone the 2024 African Women’s Cup of Nations to 2025, setting new dates from July 5 to July 26. This decision was made during CAF’s virtual executive committee meeting due to a congested women’s football calendar this year.

Despite this postponement, several African countries, including Nigeria, South Africa, and Ghana, have already qualified for the biennial tournament. The delay allows more time for preparations and ensures a smoother organization of the prestigious event.
