A Lagos-bound Air Peace flight from Abuja was delayed Thursday morning due to a bird strike. The incident occurred just before takeoff, prompting the flight to return to the ramp for safety checks. Passengers disembarked without issue, and a replacement aircraft was deployed to minimize delays.

The airline assured passengers that their safety was a priority and apologized for any inconvenience caused. Human rights lawyer Inibehe Effiong, on board the flight, shared his experience on social media, describing the situation as causing panic among passengers. Effiong mentioned that the captain confirmed the bird strike caused the disruption, but expressed relief that the issue occurred before takeoff rather than mid-flight.

Passengers were soon boarded onto the replacement plane for the Lagos journey. The airline has also assured that they are working to avoid further delays for other flights impacted by the incident. This event follows a previous disruption on November 4, when another Air Peace flight encountered a technical issue after takeoff from Benin, causing further delays.
