Air Peace CEO Allen Onyema has hailed the Ekiti State Airport as one of the best globally, praising its modern infrastructure and ability to handle large aircraft. He emphasized its economic potential, while state officials highlighted its readiness for full commercial operations and its role in boosting regional development.

The Chief Executive Officer of Air Peace, Dr. Allen Onyema, has commended the Ekiti State Agro-Allied International Cargo Airport, calling it one of the best globally. Onyema made this statement after landing at the airport in a Boeing 737 on his way to the Federal University Oye-Ekiti’s convocation.

Speaking with journalists, Onyema praised the airport’s infrastructure, including its apron, runway, and terminal, highlighting its capability to handle both international and domestic flights. He emphasized that the airport could accommodate larger aircraft, such as the Boeing 777, positioning it as a key player in Nigeria’s aviation sector.

Onyema expressed optimism that the airport would boost economic activities in Ekiti State and serve as a hub for pilgrims and travelers shortly. He assured the government of Air Peace’s commitment to partnering with the airport once commercial operations commence.

Technical Adviser to the Governor on Airport Project, AVM Sunday Makinde (rtd), echoed Onyema’s sentiments, stating that the seamless landing of a Boeing 737 demonstrated the airport’s readiness for full commercial operations.

Commissioner for Information, Taiwo Olatunbosun, described the airport as a transformative project that will enhance infrastructure development and drive economic growth.

With its advanced facilities and strategic location, the Ekiti airport is expected to play a crucial role in Nigeria’s aviation industry, offering new opportunities for trade and connectivity.
