In a significant development, the Nigerian government has officially approved Air Peace, FlyNas, and Max Air as the exclusive carriers for the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage, marking a strategic move in pilgrimage logistics. The decision, disclosed by the National Hajj Commission of Nigeria (NAHCON), also includes the approval of Cargo Zeal Technologies Ltd, Nahco Aviance, and Qualla Investment Limited as official cargo companies for the exercise.
The statement by NAHCON revealed that Air Peace will be responsible for transporting pilgrims from several states, including Abia, Akwa Ibom, Anambra, and others. FlyNas and Max Air will cater to pilgrims from distinct regions, ensuring a meticulous allocation based on the Bilateral Air Service Agreement (BASA) between Nigeria and Saudi Arabia.
As the government navigates the complexities of coordinating the Hajj pilgrimage, the allocation strategy is designed to adhere to existing agreements while accommodating state preferences. The upcoming signing of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) on January 7, 2024, by Minister of Foreign Affairs, Yusuf Tuggar, further underscores the government's commitment to the successful execution of the 2024 Hajj pilgrimage
