Akor Adams, a Nigerian striker, has signed a five-year contract with Sevilla FC, joining Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho. Following a stellar season at Montpellier and Lillestrøm, Adams is set to strengthen Sevilla’s attack. His signing reflects the club’s focus on young, dynamic players for long-term success.
Sevilla FC has secured the signing of Nigerian striker Akor Adams from Montpellier HSC on a five-year deal, which will run through 2029. Adams, 24, strengthens Sevilla’s attacking options, joining fellow Nigerians Chidera Ejuke and Kelechi Iheanacho at the club. However, reports suggest that Iheanacho may leave before the transfer window ends.
Adams' rise in European football has been marked by steady progress. After moving to Montpellier from Lillestrøm SK in 2023, he impressed with 10 goals and 2 assists in 33 appearances. Before that, Adams enjoyed success in Norway, where he began his European career at Sogndal IL in 2018, before transferring to Lillestrøm. His remarkable form in the 2023 season, scoring 17 goals in 17 matches, led to his move to France.
The Nigerian international, who featured in the 2019 FIFA U-20 World Cup, adds depth to the squad as Sevilla looks to strengthen for the coming seasons. Adams is expected to make a significant contribution to the team as they aim to compete in both La Liga and European competitions.
His move to Sevilla aligns with the club’s strategy of building a youthful squad, with Adams joining an increasingly prominent Nigerian presence at the club.
