Senate President Godswill Akpabio has declared the seats of Senators David Umahi and Ibrahim Giadam vacant, following their recent appointments as ministers.
The announcement, made during a plenary session in Abuja, aligns with Section 68, Subsection (1)(d) of the 1999 Constitution (as amended).
Akpabio has called upon the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to promptly initiate the process for by-elections in the Ebonyi-South and Yobe-East senatorial districts.
