Senate President Godswill Akpabio has expressed admiration for the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), Nyesom Wike, describing him as a "man of peace" despite the criticism surrounding the ongoing demolition of structures in Abuja. Speaking at a public lecture and book launch in Port Harcourt, Akpabio humorously reflected on Wike’s temperament, stating that even after a quarrel, Wike would quickly forget it and even invite him for lunch. This light-hearted comment drew laughter from the audience.

Wike, in his response to the criticisms, reaffirmed his confidence in his actions and the support he has received from President Bola Tinubu. He dismissed the attacks as the work of detractors, emphasizing that his focus remains on delivering results for the public. Wike further expressed that he doesn't let criticism affect him, as he doesn’t pay attention to it or feel the need to respond.
