Fulham secured a 1-0 victory over Benfica in their first pre-season game, with Alex Iwobi scoring the winning goal. Iwobi's precise finish came from a well-executed play involving Adama Traoré and Antonee Robinson. The win highlights a strong start for Fulham's pre-season preparations.

In their first pre-season match, Fulham secured a 1-0 victory over Benfica, with Super Eagles midfielder Alex Iwobi scoring the decisive goal. The match, held at Estádio Algarve, saw Iwobi play a crucial role, showcasing his skill and precision.

The game began with a balanced approach from both sides, as they struggled to gain a clear upper hand. Benfica initially appeared to dominate, but their defensive lapses were exploited by Fulham. Midfielder Adama Traoré made a crucial contribution, advancing from the midfield and delivering a pass to Iwobi on the left flank. Iwobi, in turn, passed the ball to Antonee Robinson, who made a run into the box. Robinson then laid the ball back for Iwobi, who calmly finished with a precise shot from inside the area to secure the win.

Iwobi, who was substituted in the 79th minute for Martial Godo, played a pivotal role in Fulham’s attack. His performance was complemented by a solid defensive display from Super Eagles teammate Calvin Bassey, who played the full 90 minutes.

With this win, Fulham sets a positive tone for their pre-season campaign, ahead of their next fixture against Sevilla on August 5.
