Nigerian sprint sensation, Tobi Amusan, demonstrated her dominance by clinching victory in the women’s 100m hurdles Round 1 heat at the 13th Africa Games in Ghana. Amusan showcased her exceptional speed, completing the race in an impressive time of 13.03 seconds.
This triumph secures her a coveted spot in the semifinals of the women’s 100m hurdles event, highlighting her prowess on the track.
However, Team Nigeria faced setbacks in the men’s and women’s 100m events, conceding the gold medals to Cameroon and Gambia, respectively. Usheoritse Itsekiri's efforts in the men’s 100m resulted in a silver medal with a time of 10.23 seconds, while Olayinka Olajide secured bronze in the women’s 100m with a time of 11.55 seconds.
