Leaders of the All Progressives Congress (APC) in Anambra State have voiced strong opposition to the recent appointment of Bianca Ojukwu as a minister-designate, labeling it an "anti-party" decision. During an emergency meeting held in Awka on October 24, they expressed their discontent with President Bola Tinubu’s choice to appoint Ojukwu, a member of the Board of Trustees for the All Progressive Grand Alliance (APGA), without prior consultation with APC members.
High Chief Bunty Onuigbo, the APC’s South East Zonal Secretary, articulated the sentiments of the stakeholders, condemning the move as detrimental to party unity and morale. "This is nothing but an act of anti-party, and it is detrimental," he stated, emphasizing that empowering members from rival parties undermines the loyalty expected within the APC. He questioned whether the president intended to spark a mass defection of APC members to APGA, hinting at a potential shift in party allegiance among constituents.
