Real Madrid suffered a 2-1 loss to Betis, ending their unbeaten streak. Kylian Mbappé struggled in the match and was substituted due to a dental issue affecting his fitness. Carlo Ancelotti explained the decision, stating that Mbappé hadn’t trained well and was not at his best for the game.

Real Madrid’s seven-game unbeaten streak was broken on Saturday, with a 2-1 defeat to Real Betis in La Liga. Despite an early lead from Brahim Diaz, goals from Johnny Cardoso and former Madrid player Isco, who scored from a penalty, gave Betis the win.

Kylian Mbappé, who has been crucial to Real Madrid’s attacking success, had a disappointing performance. The French forward struggled throughout the match and was substituted in the 75th minute, with young Brazilian Endrick replacing him. Following the match, manager Carlo Ancelotti revealed that Mbappé was dealing with a “problem” during the week, specifically a dental issue that hindered his training.

Ancelotti explained, “He had a problem this week (his tooth), and he hasn’t trained much, so he wasn’t at his best. To avoid further issues, I took him off and brought on Endrick, who had been in good form.” The substitution raised questions, but Ancelotti’s decision was based on protecting Mbappé’s health, rather than any tactical reason.

This defeat leaves Real Madrid looking to bounce back as they prepare for their upcoming Champions League match against Atlético Madrid next Tuesday, a crucial fixture in the knockout stages.
