Annie Idibia, estranged wife of Nigerian music icon 2Baba, has officially dropped his surname and reverted to her maiden name, Annie Uwana Macaulay. The actress and model, who had remained silent since their separation was announced in January, made her first public statement on social media early Thursday.

In an emotional Instagram post, Annie expressed gratitude to her supporters, thanking them for their unwavering love and encouragement during her difficult times. While she has changed her name in her latest post, her social media handle still bears ‘Annie Idibia1’.

The couple, who have been married since 2012 and share two children, have been at the center of public speculation regarding their split. The situation took a new turn when 2Baba confirmed his relationship with Natasha Osawaru, the deputy majority leader of the Edo State House of Assembly, and proposed to her in February.

Amid the controversy, 2Baba’s mother, Rose Idibia, publicly urged Natasha to step away from her son, though Natasha defended her engagement, citing cultural significance.

Annie’s name change marks a new chapter in her life as she moves forward independently. Fans continue to speculate on whether further details about the split will emerge, but for now, she appears focused on personal healing and growth.
