A disturbing video has emerged online, showing a disturbing bullying incident at Beautiful Beginning Academy in Abuja. The footage, shared by ChuksEricE on X, depicts an SS2 student held down by a chain around his neck, surrounded by four SS3 students. One of the students films the incident while laughing, as the victim struggles. The bullies mock the student with taunts, including harsh phrases like "baba lie down" and "you dey craze," some of which are in Hausa.
This incident has sparked outrage, drawing parallels to a similar bullying case earlier this year. In May, a viral video showed Namtira Bwala, a female student at the British International School in Abuja, being bullied by Mariam Hassan. The incident led to public outrage, with netizens calling for justice and accountability. Namtira later filed a lawsuit against the school for failing to protect her and allegedly covering up the matter. Mariam Hassan issued a public apology.
