The APC criticizes Peter Obi's New Year message, calling it misleading and politically driven. Obi's concerns about corruption, mismanagement, and poverty under President Tinubu are dismissed by the ruling party, which highlights positive economic indicators and ongoing reforms aimed at improving Nigeria's future.
The All Progressives Congress (APC) has dismissed Peter Obi's New Year message as misleading and politically motivated. Obi, the 2023 presidential candidate for the Labour Party, criticized President Bola Tinubu's administration, highlighting concerns about corruption, mismanagement, and poverty. He called for decisive actions to address these issues.
In response, APC spokesperson Felix Morka argued that Obi's remarks contradicted positive economic indicators, which show progress under Tinubu’s leadership. Morka accused Obi and the opposition Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) of attempting to incite public outrage against the administration. The APC further pointed out that Obi, during his tenure as Anambra's governor, left no significant accomplishments, implying that his criticisms were hollow.
The party expressed confidence that under Tinubu’s leadership, Nigeria’s economy is improving and that ongoing reforms will yield greater benefits for the country. Morka highlighted the administration’s goal of reducing inflation and emphasized the ongoing fight against corruption, which has seen high-profile individuals being investigated. The APC urged Nigerians to remain optimistic about the future, stressing that Tinubu’s vision and reforms are transforming the nation for the better.
